STORY OF THE DAY
OK SO I AM GONNA TRY TO DO DAILY STORYS THAT TOUCH ME AND SHARE THEM WITH ALL OF YOU, HOPE YOU ENJOY!!!

WICHITA, Kansas, January 1, 2008 - Snapshots of Kasey Berube's life. They are candid moments of the 16-year-old's friends, family, animals and Wichita attractions, now on display at Larksfield Place. Her exhibit is called 'My Point of View.'

"I really enjoy it," Berube said."It makes me happy."
But her love of photography happened by accident, literally. It was a head on collision two years ago that left her in a wheelchair, paralyzed from the waist down. She's no longer able to dance and do gymnastics so the Campus High School sophomore found a new passion.
"I didn't really have a hobby or anything to do any more," Berube said. "I had taken pictures of my friends and my grandma told me they were pretty good."
"It's been a tough two years," Nancy Berube, Kasey's mother said. "But it's been rewarding to see her go through all these stages and come out the way she has,"
Her determination landed Kasey a showing at Larksfield Place, a full service community that provides independent living opportunities for seniors and the handicapped.
"Kasey brought in her portfolio," Terryl Asla, Larksfield Place Director of Resource Development, said. "It was extremely impressive for any age, but particularly for one so young."
But this exhibit is about more than just looking at beautiful pictures on the wall, it's inspiring people and giving them a new perspective on life.
"Sometimes when you get older and you have a disability or two, you get to feeling sorry for yourself," Asla said. "It's really good to have someone like Kasey come and remind you that you can still be doing something creative."
"Things have changed a huge amount but it is for the best," Kasey said. "I guess things do always happen for a reason."
Kasey's view of the world is much different from her wheelchair now. But she's not letting her disability get her down. In fact her life and possible career as a budding photographer is definitely looking up.

You are making a huge mistake by filing a lawsuit on behalf of this so called "Doctor" , Mr. Snieder. Did Mr. Snieder have patients under his care who really need pain management? YES. Did Mr. Snieder have patients under his care that he made very loose diagnosis for then prescribe massive amounts of medication in ever increasing amounts with little or no over site? YES!!! Did some of those patients then DIE? YES!!!
I know the answer to these questions because:
1) My brother was at one time a patients of Mr. Snieder, his first visit lasted about five minutes and he left with a prescription for a giant bottle of pills that even he felt he didn't really need.
2) I met a former assistant of Mr. Snieder who quit after only 2 weeks on the job when it became clear to her that people were being prescribed massive amounts of dangerous drugs they didn't need, she was very disappointed with herself for not making her claims public.
3) I have a friend who is a drug addict, plain and simple, he has no chronic medical conditions, he just likes drugs, period. Mr. Snieder's clinic, was in his words, " the best thing ever, just like going to the store to get what you want." he called Mr. Snieder "The Candy Man",and finally
4) I watched one of my young friends visit Mr. Snieder's clinic time and time again to re-fill narcotic prescriptions, he was severely addicted to the medication, but Mr. Snieder continued to prescribe them well after his alleged ailment should have been completely treated. He died of a drug overdose, at age 21, on his best friends couch...he left behind a 1 year old son, and a dear friend who now sobs as he types these words.
Is Mr. Snieder a monster? Maybe. Is he at the very least a very ignorant and arrogant man who helped others to their demise through his greed and laziness? YES, that I know for sure. And you should too! Shame on you! Pick your battles a little better PRN. You're backing a loser in this fight.Sincerely, Jason W

I GUESS I WILL LET YOU IN ON A FEW SECRETS ABOUT ME, I AM 24, BORN AND RAISED A KANSAS GIRL. I LOVE MY PARENTS, THEY ARE AWESOME, MY DAD, WELL HE IS A LITTLE CRAZY, BUT THAT STORY WE WILL SAVE FOR ANOTHER DAY.
